Rachel, Practice Manager/RVT
We are thrilled to introduce a vital member of our leadership team: Rachel, our Practice Manager and Registered Veterinary Technician. With a background in veterinary technology and a deep commitment to client service, Rachel plays a pivotal role in ensuring every visit to our clinic is positive, stress-free, and tailored to both pets and their people.
Rachel’s journey in veterinary medicine began in 2016, inspired by a lifelong dream of working with animals. While she initially considered veterinary school, she discovered the Veterinary Technology Program at Douglas College and immediately knew it was the perfect fit. Since graduating in 2020, she has combined her technical expertise with a passion for compassionate care. Rachel previously worked as a Lab Facilitator at Douglas College, where she spent three years helping train the next generation of veterinary technicians. This role allowed her to share her knowledge and experience while continuing to grow as a mentor and educator within the field.
As a technician, Rachel is particularly passionate about dentistry and anesthesia, and she takes pride in delivering the highest standard of medical care. In her role as Practice Manager, she excels at creating a welcoming environment and building meaningful relationships with our clients. She is also Fear Free Certified and finds great fulfillment in working with anxious pets and their owners to make every visit as calm and comfortable as possible.
Outside the clinic, Rachel shares her life with her husband and a lively crew of adopted pets: three cats with unique medical needs (Theo, Gimli, and Loki) and a spirited crested gecko named Nim (short for Nimue, though she’s sometimes affectionately called Nimrod). In her free time, Rachel enjoys crocheting, reading, hitting the gym, and playing video games with her husband.
A Note from Rachel:
“One of the best parts of my job is seeing a nervous pet slowly learn to trust us. There’s nothing more rewarding than having a client tell me, ‘This is the calmest they’ve ever been at the vet.’ That’s what Fear Free is all about: working together to create positive experiences, one step at a time. I’m always here to listen, support, and help make your visit as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your furry family members.“
